Although smaller and less well known than the nearby Assisi, Bevagna is a charming little hamlet of the greatest interest, with a history which goes back at least 2000 years.

During Roman times it was a flourishing municipality and is still home to the ruins of an incredible Roman theater, partly covered by medieval houses over the centuries.
