Hi there! I’m maura

I’m your local expert in Assisi and Umbria

I was born and raised in Umbria and, like many people, I spent my twenties travelling around the world. I spent time in all the major European capitals and  several months travelling throughout the United States.

Once back home, I quickly realized I wanted to share my passion for my heritage, that is the natural beauty and the art of Umbria.

I studied art history and gained my Tour Guide’s License… and I’ve never looked back.

I’m a licensed tour guide since 2001

Umbria is a land of treasures!

It is home to some of the most incredible pieces of artwork in the world. At the end of a working day I always feel a sense of gratitude and pride for the unforgettable experiences which I have been able to share with my guests.

And I’m excited to be your tour guide in Assisi and across all the beauties of Umbria.

The choice of authentic experiences is almost limitless

A guided tour with me might include a day of walking the cobbled streets of magnificent hamlets such as Spello, or the feeling of being almost overwhelmed by the famous and revolutionary frescoes painted by Giotto in the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi.

We might have finished the day by savoring a glass of Sagrantino wine together, while admiring the breathtaking view of the gentle countryside.

“Wherever you go, go with all your heart”

Confucius

I look forward to giving you a unique gift from my Umbria

It’s a gift which cannot be lost and I hope will continue to give you the sense of an invisible link back here to my home.

Forever.

    Reviews

My company have been using Maura as our guide in Umbria for more than 10 years.

She is an outstanding guide, full of information, always helpful and extremely professional.

I can highly recommend her services.

Maura is superb – knowledgeable, flexible in her approach to adults and children (we ranged in age from 3 to 80), entertaining, and attractive.

She met us at the various places we had chosen to see, adjusted her schedule to complement ours, and was, I gather, reasonable in her fees.

Strong recommendations from all fourteen of us.

Brilliant and charming! Maura weaves history and humor together, making her tours both interesting, captivating and fun.

She is easy to work with and reliable.

I wanted to say how much I enjoyed our time with Maura.

Occasionally in life one makes unexpected contact with a kindred spirit – we all felt that with her and hated saying good-bye!
